Pomeranian Congress of National Remembrance

“History speaks through generations” – under this slogan, on November 20-21, 2024, the Pomeranian Congress of National Remembrance, organized by the Gdańsk branch of the Institute of National Remembrance, will take place at AMBEREXPO in Gdańsk.

The past can and must be told in a modern way. The Congress will be a response to the results of the research “Education for Memory”, conducted on behalf of the Institute of National Remembrance by the team of Dr. Krzysztof Malicki.

The Pomeranian Congress of National Remembrance is the first such event in our region, during which we invite you to the educational zone and new technologies, to historical debates, multimedia exhibitions, film screenings, workshops and many other attractions. We will tell our history, with particular emphasis on its local dimension. We will talk about the dramatic years of World War II and the experience of occupation and incorporation of our lands into the borders of the Third German Reich. We will recall the post-war years and communist enslavement, the heroism of workers during December 1970, we will present the struggles Pomeranians on the way to 1989. All these steps will lead us to commemorate the people of “Solidarity”.

The Pomeranian Congress of National Remembrance will be a story about the latest history of Poland that will appeal to every generation: both the elderly, who remember the difficult 20th century well, and the youth, learning through new technologies, multimedia and fun. We cordially invite you!

The website pomorskikongresipn.pl will be launched soon, where you will be able to register for selected events, in which participation is free of charge.

We invite both organized groups and individuals.
