As every year, temporary traffic changes will be introduced in Gdańsk's city centre. They will come into force from 27 June and last until 31 August. The first phase relates to the summer traffic arrangements, while the second, in force from 11 July, is linked to St Dominic's Fair.
The event attracts huge interest every year, which also brings the need for changes to traffic arrangements. A range of measures is being introduced gradually to minimise the logistical inconvenience we may encounter. Below is the schedule of changes that will apply in the coming period.
1. Summer phase
Traffic changes from 27 June to 10 July and from 22 August to 31 August.
- For holders of IMG permits (for the LAZ), entry into the Main City area from Targ Drzewny will only be possible via św. Ducha Street,
- Entry onto Szeroka Street from Targ Drzewny will not be possible,
- Access to ul. Szeroka via ul. św. Ducha-Latarnia-Szeroka. On ul. Szeroka, on the stretch from ul. Latarniana to Targ Drzewny (heading towards Targ Drzewny), one-way traffic will apply.
- Exit from Szeroka Street to Targ Drzewny via Szeroka Street
- Due to renovation works, ul. Węglarska and ul. Pańska are closed to traffic along their entire length, excluding the junction with ul. Szeroka
- Due to works at St Nicholas's Church, the section of ul. Świętojańska from ul. Pańska to ul. Szklary is closed to traffic
- Reversal of direction on Szklary Street and Lawendowa Street towards Podwale Staromiejskie Street
- Podwale Staromiejskie, on the stretch from Lawendowa Street to its end towards Wałowa Street, will be a one-way street heading towards Wałowa Street
- Grodzka Street, Wapiennicza Street and Stara Stocznia Street up to the entrance of the underground car park of the Brabank building will be one-way streets heading towards Wałowa Street
- The right-hand lanes of Podwale Staromiejskie, ul. Grodzka and ul. Wapiennicza will be designated as parking spaces within the Paid Parking Zone (SPP)
- Two-way traffic will apply on ul. Stolarska. This is due to planned changes on ul. Rajska during St Dominic's Fair
Change to the boundaries of the Restricted Access Zone from 27 June – where to collect permits?
Eligible persons are invited to collect their free IGM permits from:
- GZDiZ Service Point at ul. Wodopój 7, Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays 7:00 am – 3:00 pm, and Wednesdays 7:00 am – 4:30 pm.
- GZDiZ Customer Service Office at ul. Partyzantów 36, Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays 7:00 am – 3:00 pm, and Wednesdays 7:00 am – 4:30 pm.
- Permits for the extended Restricted Access Zone will be issued from 23 June to 31 August.

Detailed description of traffic changes
OLD TOWN:
- Rajska Street closed to traffic – the stretch from Podwale Staromiejskie Street to Heweliusza Street, as well as Wielkie Młyny Street and Podmłyńska Street
- On the two-way ul. Korzenna, a parking lane will be created along with disabled parking spaces
- Ulice Na Piaskach and Katarzynki, at their junctions with ul. Rajska, will become no-through roads (dead ends)
- Podwale Staromiejskie, on the stretch from Lawendowa Street to its end towards Wałowa Street, will be a one-way street heading towards Wałowa Street
- Grodzka Street, Wapiennicza Street and Stara Stocznia Street up to the entrance of the underground car park of the Brabank building will be one-way streets heading towards Wałowa Street
- The right-hand lanes of Podwale Staromiejskie, ul. Grodzka and ul. Wapiennicza will be designated as parking spaces within the Paid Parking Zone (SPP)
- No changes to traffic arrangements on ul. Stolarska, ul. Mniszki or ul. Igielnicka
MAIN CITY:
- entry into the Main City area, only for holders of IMG permits (for the LAZ) and FGM sector parking cards, will be possible from Targ Drzewny, only via św. Ducha Street
- Entry onto Szeroka Street from Targ Drzewny not possible
- Access to Szeroka Street via the streets św. Ducha-Latarnia-Szeroka
- Exit from Szeroka Street to Targ Drzewny via Szeroka Street
- Due to renovation works, ul. Węglarska and ul. Pańska are closed to traffic along their entire length, excluding the junction with ul. Szeroka
- Due to works at St Nicholas's Church, the section of ul. Świętojańska from ul. Pańska to ul. Szklary is closed to traffic
- Reversal of direction on Szklary Street and Lawendowa Street towards Podwale Staromiejskie Street
- Access to streets covered by the Fair for residents holding an IGM permit (for the SOD) and FGM sector parking cards, between 8:00 pm and 10:00 am
- Due to possible heavy pedestrian flows, especially around Targ Rybny and Skwer Świętopełka, temporary extensions to the closure of resident entry are possible – please follow security staff instructions
- As in previous years, the street loop of św. Ducha-Złotników-Szklary-Podwale Staromiejskie remains in operation
- Entry to Targ Rybny from Podwale Staromiejskie is closed to traffic – one-way route via U Furty-Tobiasza
DŁUGIE OGRODY:
- Szafarnia, from the entrance to the underground car park of the Waterlane building to the junction with Długie Ogrody Street, will be closed to motor traffic
- Długie Ogrody, on the stretch from the junction with ul. Długa Grobla to the junction with ul. Łąkowa, will be one-way towards ul. Łąkowa. Traffic on the section of ul. Długie Ogrody from the junction with ul. Łąkowa to the junction with ul. Szopy will run two-way on the southern carriageway (currently leading towards Podwale Przedmiejskie).
- Szopy, at its junction with ul. Długie Ogrody, will become a no-through road (no entry from the above streets onto ul. Długie Ogrody).
- Ulice Krowoderska and Św. Barbary will become no-through roads (no entry from the above streets onto ul. Długie Ogrody).
- A left turn from ul. Seredyńskiego into Długie Ogrody towards ul. Łąkowa will be possible
- This year, ul. Łąkowa will not be closed on the section from the junction with ul. Długie Ogrody up to the Academy of Music
- Due to the construction of a drawbridge on ul. Stągiewna, it will not be possible to travel towards ul. Stągiewna
