The Tricity has finally got its wish! Targi Rzeczy Ładnych is finally coming to the seaside. On 13 and 14 May, one of the largest events devoted to Polish design will take place at AMBEREXPO in Gdańsk. Over 220 exhibitors will offer, among other things, furniture, posters, textiles, ceramics and plants. The event will run from 11am to 7pm, and tickets – which can be purchased here – cost PLN 10 in presale and PLN 15 during the event.
Over the course of a decade, Targi Rzeczy Ładnych has become a truly recognisable brand that draws crowds in Warsaw every year. It's no surprise, then, that in recent years the organisers decided to take the project on tour. This time, to Gdańsk as well. An added attraction will be the Mamaville fair, which will bring the total number of stalls up to 260. Many exhibitors will be appearing at TRŁ for the first time, and a good number of them come from the Tricity.
The organisers' mission is to discover companies and designers whose products can't be found in ordinary shops, and who impress with their ideas and excellent craftsmanship. As they put it, TRŁ is an ocean of inspiration and a chance to go home with truly beautiful, unique items and a head full of ideas.
Stalls at TRŁ at AMBEREXPO will be divided into 11 thematic zones: furniture, ceramics, posters and illustrations, lamps, textiles, vintage, cosmetics and wellness products, accessories, jewellery, books, children's toys, and deli, meaning food brands.
But the stalls aren't everything. Targi Rzeczy Ładnych is also about meetings. On Saturday at 12.30pm, participants will be able to meet Danuta Olędzka, an architect who co-designed the team behind the Przymorze housing estate, and at 2pm the Gdynia City Museum invites visitors to a meeting with architect Jakub Szczęsny on the influence of design on society and our surroundings.
