Pomerania is becoming the green heart of Poland – with these words, the Voivode of Pomerania Beata Rutkiewicz opened the press conference announcing the March fair and PowerConnect Energy Summit conference, to be held at AMBEREXPO in Gdańsk on 26-28 March 2025. The event will address many important topics related to Poland's energy transformation, which will have its greatest impact on the country in Pomerania.
PowerConnect Energy Summit is a newcomer to the Gdańsk International Fair's calendar of events. The debut of the energy fair and conference will take place in March.
– Pomerania is becoming the green heart of Poland, which will change the face of energy in our country. We are beginning construction of Poland's first nuclear power plant. Another important element is the offshore wind farms in the Baltic. However, we must remember that, beyond major investments, we also need to act as local governments. Each of us is working towards our own energy transition – says Beata Rutkiewicz, Voivode of Pomerania.
– What matters in the transformation is not just the visible changes. It is also an economic change, a driving force for our entrepreneurs. New jobs and new fields of study. It is also a strengthening of our political position. It is worth being self-sufficient in order to feel secure. Investing in Polish energy strengthens our position on the international stage. We will be discussing all these issues during the March event at AMBEREXPO – she adds.
The overarching goal of PCES is to build a strong community of companies willing to share their ideas and knowledge in order to effectively increase their share in Poland's energy transformation. In one place, market leaders, specialised subcontractors, innovative technology companies, recognised experts and decision-makers responsible for the sector's development in Poland and abroad will come together.
– Gdańsk is once again becoming a venue for important discussion – whether in geopolitical terms or on climate change. In our city we are setting ourselves ambitious goals related to net-zero emissions and improving energy efficiency. We see opportunities in this process for Gdańsk's and Pomerania's industry, but also challenges that need to be discussed. PowerConnect Energy Summit will be the ideal place for that – says Piotr Grzelak, Deputy Mayor of Gdańsk.
The energy transformation involves, among other things, the emergence of new industry in Pomerania, data centres and energy storage facilities. This also involves creating conditions for the development of domestic companies that will be able to fit into the supply chain. PCES will naturally become a place that can contribute to the development of such enterprises. The event will include a Suppliers Day held by several key companies, where it will be possible to explore procurement processes, platforms, and technical, formal or organisational requirements.
– We must, and will, seize the opportunity arising from circumstances favourable to us, linked to the Polish presidency of the European Union. The whole Union will be watching what is happening in Poland. If we naturally harness the synergy of the offshore sector developing in the north, the nuclear power plant, and a fair and conference so well organised here, this event is bound to succeed – believes Sławomir Staszak, President of the Management Board of Energa SA.
– For many months I have sat on PowerConnect's programme council, where we shape the event's strategy. I am counting on the conference to confirm the fact that our region and Gdańsk are becoming a focal point bringing together the most important ventures and the most important people in the energy sector. The vectors of energy transformation are shifting north, and Energa is actively taking part in it. Over the first three quarters of this year, almost 60 percent of the energy produced by the Energa Group came from renewable energy sources – he adds.
The energy transformation brings opportunities related to employment in this sector as well as in related industries. That is why PowerConnect will address topics related to training staff and helping young people enter the labour market, as well as retraining those already active professionally who are open to working in the energy sector.
The final day of PCES, dedicated to career matters, will be an opportunity for both sides – to gain a better understanding of the energy sector's current expectations.

From this we have carved out 5 companies which formed ASE Holding – together they cover every field of the energy transformation – says Piotr Bieniasz-Krzywiec, Vice-President of the Management Board of ASE Holding.
PCES aims to connect small and medium-sized enterprises with big business. To teach and provoke conversation, as with the ASE group, which is proof of how ambition and dreams can create the largest engineering group in our country. With broad competencies – from the atom, through the power grid, to new energy solutions.
– We very much care that the Fair and Conference establish themselves in a challenging market as the energy equivalent of TRAKO. That we meet at AMBEREXPO and talk about energy as a transformation across the Baltic Sea region – says Andrzej Bojanowski, president of Międzynarodowe Targi Gdańskie.

There, representatives of small and medium-sized enterprises will meet, among others, local authorities as well as big business.
