On 29 January, we hosted at our conference centre the participants of an author's meeting with Anna Rzędowska, who presented her book „There Was Once a Hospital”. In it, the author described a medical facility operating at AMBEREXPO during the COVID-19 pandemic, playing an important role in the fight against the disease that caused so many problems for us all.
The Temporary Hospital in Gdańsk began operating on the AMBEREXPO exhibition grounds on 8 March 2021 and ran until the end of June that same year. It was reopened for a further period, from 17 January to 31 March 2022, in response to the number of people infected with the SARS-CoV-2 virus who required hospitalisation. There were so many that hospitals across the province ran out of space. That was when the idea arose for a temporary medical facility, created in cooperation with: Grupa LOTOS S.A. as project investor, together with Międzynarodowe Targi Gdańskie S.A. and COPERNICUS PL Sp. z o.o.
Anna Rzędowska gathered accounts from those who helped create the hospital and presented them in the book 
"There Was Once a Hospital". She described the stories of many quiet heroes. Among those who shared their recollections during the meeting were: Dariusz Kostrzewa – President of the Management Board of COPERNICUS Podmiot Leczniczy in Gdańsk, Andrzej Bojanowski – President of the Management Board of Międzynarodowe Targi Gdańskie S.A., Dr Rafał Cudnik – the then Medical Director of the Temporary Hospital, Dariusz Drelich – the then Voivode of Pomerania, Dr Piotr Kobzdej – the then Plenipotentiary of the Voivode of Pomerania, and Marcin Piankowski – Director of Investments at Grupa Lotos. The meeting was hosted by Bartosz Tobieński.
During the meeting, copies of the book about the facility, which treated over 1,300 patients during its operation, were presented to the hospital's staff. The staff also received commemorative medals.
