We are delighted to announce that Gdańsk's Christmas Market has won the prestigious Best Christmas Markets in Europe 2025 competition! Thanks to your votes, the Christmas Market took first place on the podium, and Gdańsk earned the title of the best place to spend Christmas in Europe. This is a huge honour, showing the exceptional atmosphere we create together every year!
The Christmas Market is not just beautiful decorations, festive cabins and an artistic programme – above all, it is a magical atmosphere that draws people from all over the world. Gdańsk, with its charming streets and historic centre, turns into a true winter wonderland at this time of year. Handicrafts, delicious food, aromatic mulled wine, and festive music on top of all that – all of this makes Gdańsk's Christmas Market a truly unique experience.
We would like to warmly thank everyone who supported us in the voting for the Best Christmas Markets in Europe 2025 competition. Your energy and commitment made Gdańsk's Christmas Market number 1 in Europe! We won 92,283 votes, beating last year's result from Budapest by 35%. This is also the highest score in the history of the competition, and the first such distinction for both Gdańsk and Poland. We are delighted that so many people appreciate the magic of Gdańsk and hold their own favourite Christmas memories of it.

– We invite you to the Christmas Market until 23 December. And from 1 December, the whole city will turn into a true festive wonderland. Christmas trees will light up in 15 districts. The main Christmas tree on Długi Targ will become the heart of the festive illuminations that will decorate Gdańsk – adds the Mayor of Gdańsk.
Gdańsk's Christmas Market is also a great opportunity to feel the spirit of Christmas with family and friends. This year even more attractions await visitors – unique stalls, artistic performances, and illuminations that make Gdańsk shine even more brightly in its festive glow.
