Following the conclusion of the current term of the Management Board, which ended on the date the MTG General Meeting of Shareholders approved the financial statements for 2023, held on 28.06.2024, the Supervisory Board passed resolutions by secret ballot to reappoint the existing Management Board members for a new three-year term, entrusting them with their previous roles, namely Mr Andrzej Bojanowski as President of the Management Board, and Mr Paweł Orłowski as Vice-President of the Management Board. The new term of the Management Board ends on the date of the General Meeting approving the Financial Statements for 2026.
As Andrzej Bojanowski, President of Międzynarodowe Targi Gdańskie SA, says: "I have been associated with Międzynarodowe Targi Gdańskie for 15 years. As such, a fair summary of our activities now covers almost half of the company's history. During this period, MTG faced many challenges, such as building the new conference and exhibition centre, and striving to retain its biggest trade fair titles."
– The company's activities are also shaped by changing trends in the events industry. Recently it has become clear how important it is to re-encourage people towards this kind of interaction, both on a business and an entertainment level. Many of us have grown accustomed to online activity and the use of digital tools in B2B marketing. The market has changed recently, a “festivalisation” is under way, and it has also been reshaped by the digital revolution. The majority of companies use digital solutions, and business events are becoming highly specialised. Those we create continue to hold a strong position, and are even growing – says Vice-President Orłowski.
By creating new titles, Międzynarodowe Targi Gdańskie has become more firmly woven into the fabric of the city. More events open to the public have been delivered and hosted, leaning towards entertainment, culture, education and, above all, personal passions. Through immersive exhibitions (Van Gogh), a music festival (Inside Seaside), and events centred on individual passions such as the Targi Rzeczy Ładnych fair, plant festivals, and Body Worlds, we have become a recognisable destination in Gdańsk that draws crowds who enjoy their free time here. In the past year, 2023, this amounted to over 200,000 visitors at the AMBEREXPO CWK grounds in Letnica, and over 2 million visitors to open-air events organised by the company.
The company is celebrating its 35th anniversary this year. The last five years can be considered among the most demanding, yet also the most interesting, in the company's history.
We sincerely thank the Supervisory Board of Międzynarodowe Targi Gdańskie for the trust shown and for extending our terms as President and Vice-President. We are also grateful to the Owners for enabling us to continue our work towards the further development of the company and the achievement of our ambitious goals – concludes Andrzej Bojanowski, President of MTG.
