Smart Metropolis Congress

AMBEREXPO, Gdańsk

org. Gdańsk-Gdynia-Sopot Metropolitan Area | PARTICIPANT REGISTRATION

The 10th anniversary edition of the Smart Metropolia congress will take place under the slogan “Overcoming the crisis. Designing new cities and districts”. On 27-28 October 2022, we will discuss the crises we are inevitably going to face in the near future. On the first day we will be hosted at Amber Expo, and on the second day we will meet at the premises of Gdańsk University of Technology.
The congress is organised by the Gdańsk-Gdynia-Sopot Metropolitan Area in partnership with the Daniel Fahrenheit Union of Universities, the Metropolitan Institute, Amber Expo and Gdańskie Wody.
Together with numerous guests from large and small Polish towns and cities, we will discuss the energy and climate crisis from the perspective of local communities, the design of friendly cities, and the creation of urban fabric between the municipalities of the metropolitan area.
The congress's special guest will be Oleksandr Markushyn, the mayor of Irpin, which neighbours Kyiv. The mayor of Irpin will tell us about the experiences of Ukrainian cities that have found themselves, or still find themselves, on the front line of the war, and about ideas for future cooperation between Polish and Ukrainian local governments.
The congress will include the inaugural session of the Joint Economic Convention at the Daniel Fahrenheit Union of Universities in Gdańsk.
Smart Metropolia is Poland's largest annual conference devoted to the cooperation between large and small municipalities within metropolitan areas, and to the relationship between metropolitan areas and the rest of the country. We warmly encourage you to take part in the 10th anniversary edition!
