On 28 October 2025, the fourth edition of the Pomeranian Intermodal Transport Congresswill take place in Gdańsk. This year we will focus, among other things, on systemic support for the development of intermodal transport and drawing up recommendations for the Ministry of Infrastructure in this area, on Poland's importance as an industrial, commercial and logistics base for Ukraine, and on ideas for increasing the competitiveness of intermodal transport – from creating an energy exchange, through lowering energy prices, to revitalising and expanding railway sidings. Issues relating to workforce and the green transition will also feature.
Every year the Congress welcomes over 200 participants representing central and local government authorities of various levels, representatives of sea ports, rail freight carriers, marshal's offices, infrastructure managers, and the academic world and industry organisations. The Congress is organised by the TOR Economic Consultants Team and Międzynarodowe Targi Gdańskie AmberExpo.
The panels will focus on the role of the state in shaping conditions for the development of intermodal transport – from deregulation, through regulation and better legislation, to institutional and financial support. There will also be discussion of strategic investments and the unblocking of transport routes (border crossings, point infrastructure, rail network capacity). Considerable attention will be devoted to transport with Ukraine itself, the importance of Polish ports in supporting Kyiv (both during and after the war), and key raw materials transported eastward from Poland.
