The second edition of the largest trade competition in Poland
On 23–25 November this year, the AMBEREXPO Exhibition and Congress Centre (Żaglowa 11, Gdańsk) will once again host the nationwide SkillsPoland 2022 competition, which serves as the qualifier for the international EuroSkills competition. Polish audiences will soon get to know the EuroSkills competition better. The next competition will take place in Poland for the first time in September 2023.
SkillsPoland is the largest trade competition, aimed at students of vocational schools, students of technical courses, and people starting their professional careers. Over 3 days, competitors from across Poland will compete to select the best, who will represent our country at the international EuroSkills 2023 final. SkillsPoland will consist of several events, but is above all a nationwide competition. This year at the Gdańsk event, we will see as many as 22 categories: landscape architecture, BIM/digital construction, confectionery, floristry, CNC milling, hairdressing, cooking, sanitary and heating installations, electrical installations, industrial robot integration, furniture making, agricultural and construction vehicle mechanics, mechatronics, hotel reception service, baking, industry 4.0, butchery, restaurant service, carpentry, welding, fashion technology, and beauty treatments. More than 200 competitors will take part in the competition (foreign competitors will also attend as guests), and they will be judged by 100 judges from Poland and abroad. We expect the event to attract more than 25 thousand visitors.
SkillsPoland is a unique opportunity for visitors to try their hand in a dozen or so “try a skill” zones, thematic workshops for teachers, partner zones, school and university fairs, and many other attractions. The event will be enhanced by a discussion panel with representatives of academia, business and public institutions.
The sole organiser of the event is the Foundation for the Development of the Education System and SkillsPoland Sp. z o.o., the host of SkillsPoland 2022 is the City of Gdańsk, honorary patronage over the event was taken by Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki, and the strategic partner of the event is the Empiria i Wiedza Foundation.
Who can take part in the competition?
The competition is aimed at pupils, students and working people who, by
5 September 2023, will have turned 18 and will not have exceeded the age of 25. Recruitment will begin in September.
What is EuroSkills?
EuroSkills is Europe's largest vocational skills competition. Competitors compete in more than 50 categories across 6 areas: information and communication technology, manufacturing and engineering, construction technology, transport and logistics, social and personal services, and arts and fashion.
The main aims that have driven the WorldSkills idea for more than 70 years are raising vocational qualifications, exchanging good practice, and building the image of vocational education. The competitions are accompanied by various shows, performances and conferences, and representatives of leading companies from around the world travel to the venue to seek potential employees and managers.
