Erasmus+ family picnic on 4 September in Gdańsk!
A wealth of attractions related to modern education await you and your family at the Family Picnic | Erasmus+ Innovation Day, taking place at Targ Węglowy in Gdańsk on 4 September. The Mobile Education Centre – a lorry packed with technology supporting modern education – will be visiting Gdańsk. The picnic programme will also include experiment shows presented by the Fahrenheit Universities Union, a tasting of dishes prepared by a medallist of the EuroSkills 2021 European Championships in cooking, animations, workshops for children, and concerts. The event will close with a concert by Ania Rusowicz. At this free event, you'll also learn that Erasmus+ Programme funding isn't just for students!
Attendees of the event, organised by the National Agency of the Erasmus+ Programme and the European Solidarity Corps together with the University of Gdańsk, can look forward to numerous attractions – concerts, tastings and shows. The event will close with a performance by Ania Rusowicz, a singer and composer whose work draws on the colourful 1960s and 70s. A winner of four Fryderyk awards, two of her albums have achieved gold record status. The duo The Missing Part and the UG Vocal Studio will also perform on stage. Visitors will be able to sample dishes prepared by Bartosz Wicherek, bronze medallist at the EuroSkills Graz 2021 championships in the cooking category. The programme will also include plenty of attractions for the youngest visitors in the form of animations and workshops. A special experiment show has been prepared by the Fahrenheit Universities Union, co-created by Gdańsk University of Technology, the University of Gdańsk and the Medical University of Gdańsk. Visitors will also be able to take part in robotics workshops or learn the basics of programming in our Mobile Education Centre.

The Erasmus+ Programme budget isn't just for students and universities. Opening of the InnHUB
To promote the use of the programme among residents of the Pomeranian Voivodeship, the National Agency of the Erasmus+ Programme and the European Solidarity Corps, together with the University of Gdańsk, is not only organising the picnic but also creating the Erasmus+ InnHUB Innovation Centre, which will be open to all interested parties from 8 September at the University of Gdańsk Library, ul. Wita Stwosza 53, in Gdańsk. The centre will serve as an information point and a venue for workshops and training. Opening hours can be found at:

It is particularly important that Erasmus+ Programme funding is available not only to schools, universities and vocational training centres, but also to companies, educational institutions such as kindergartens and schools, foundations, associations, sports clubs, and local government institutions. The European Solidarity Corps, the “younger sibling of the Erasmus+ Programme”, also offers excellent opportunities, funding international volunteering and local solidarity projects – says Dr Paweł Poszytek, Director of the National Agency of the Erasmus+ Programme and the European Solidarity Corps. Funding from the programme, allocated among other things to international exchanges and the financing of educational and vocational training projects, is available to people of all ages. The budget allocated by the European Commission for 2021–2027 is over EUR 28 billion.
Erasmus+ InnHUB is a cross-sector innovation centre and information point for the Erasmus+ Programme and the European Solidarity Corps.
– We want to promote and disseminate innovative educational projects in our region and expand our cooperation network, including through international partnerships. That is why one of the goals of the InnHUB is to create a space where students, staff and entrepreneurs can jointly search for groundbreaking business ideas – says Prof. Piotr Stepnowski, Rector of the University of Gdańsk. – In this way, we are also carrying out further tasks set by the European Universities programme, in which we actively participate in implementing practical teaching innovations, effective knowledge transfer, and promoting the idea of sustainable development.
