Almost 200 exhibitors from 15 countries, from both Poland and the rest of Europe, in one place! The BALTEXPO 2023 fair has started. The event will run until 12 October at AmberExpo in Gdańsk.
Across an area of 12,000 m2, visitors can look forward to a range of interesting themed zones, including a special zone for startups, where they will present their innovative projects from many industries, a business support zone, and a dedicated hall for the military industry, Balt Military Expo, featuring a wide range of weapons and equipment.
The official opening of the BALTEXPO 2023 fair was attended by representatives of the city, voivodeship and Pomerania region authorities, representatives of the maritime administration, the boards of sea ports, shipyards, representatives of the shipbuilding and offshore industries, as well as invited guests.
In a letter from Deputy Minister of Infrastructure Marek Gróbarczyk, addressed to the participants of BALTEXPO 2023, he expressed his deep conviction that the fair and its accompanying conference would long remain in the memory as a platform for presenting the current offer of the maritime industry, as well as theoretical reflections devoted to the most important factors shaping the realities of the Polish maritime economy. He stressed the importance of maritime-themed events, which help build a space for discussion for the community connected with the maritime economy, as well as the current subject matter of the conference, which is becoming even more significant in today's times.
Deputy Speaker of the Senate Bogdan Borusewicz expressed his satisfaction at the fact that this was another edition of the fair, with a long-standing tradition, and also praised the organisation of the event, wishing exhibitors good contracts and plenty of visitors. Present at the official opening of the fair, Leszek Bonna, Deputy Marshal of the Pomeranian Voivodeship, stressed the fact that the maritime economy is one of the key industries of the Pomeranian Voivodeship, which includes sea ports, innovative shipyards, renewable energy and the increasingly important logistics sector. Piotr Borawski, Deputy Mayor of Gdańsk,, welcomed the participants and guests of the fair during the official opening in Gdańsk, the city of the largest port on the Baltic and the capital of the maritime economy. He expressed his satisfaction that, after many years, the BALTEXPO title is returning to Gdańsk, and that the event itself is a platform integrating all exhibitors and participants of the maritime economy, in the port, logistics, military and rapidly developing offshore sectors, which in future will be a driving force not only for the Pomeranian but also for the Polish economy. He also stressed the role of young talent in the development of the maritime industry and the need to bring in new staff given the development of new technologies. The official opening of the fair was summed up by the event's organiser, Mr Andrzej Bojanowski, President of the International Fairs of Gdańsk:
– This is your celebration. It is almost 200 exhibitors who trusted us, more than a dozen sponsors who helped us organise this event, and more than 4,600 people registered for the fair. I would like to thank the BALTEXPO Programme Council enormously for their tremendous work and effort, because it is thanks to this joint work that we have managed to deliver this project. We believe that together we are able to do even more. Building a space for dialogue between entities from the broadly understood maritime industry is essential for companies to be able to develop dynamically and plan their investment outlook for the coming years. Let us also not forget the start-ups, those who have ideas that are not yet fully honed, but who want to talk about them and draw inspiration. This year's edition of the fair is a good start towards responding even better to the industry's expectations in the years to come. – said Andrzej Bojanowski, President of Międzynarodowe Targi Gdańskie S.A.
The fair is accompanied by side events such as: Career Day, scheduled for the last day of the fair, during which interested people will be able to learn more about internship and job opportunities in the maritime industry and take part in conversations with recruiters, as well as the evening Salmon Evening gala, a unique networking event bringing the maritime industry together, which will take place on 10 October in the evening.
As part of the new edition of the fair, a special dedicated pavilion has also been prepared featuring companies from the military and defence industry, BALT-MILITARY-EXPO. At the exhibition stands you will find a wide range of weapons, equipment and gear, including that of the Navy and the Border Guard. This is an excellent opportunity to learn about the latest achievements in the industry, as well as to make direct contact with those responsible for the development of the Polish Armed Forces, the Navy and high-risk services.
Ahead of us are three intensive days of debates, talks and meetings. We believe they will yield new business contacts for the future, as well as being an excellent opportunity to exchange knowledge and experience with industry experts and draw inspiration from the latest trends and technologies.
