The AMBERIF SPRING 2023 International Amber and Jewellery Fair, the largest trade event of its kind in Poland and one of the largest in Europe for the jewellery industry, is currently under way.
This largest jewellery event in Central and Eastern Europe is bringing together 252 exhibitors from 15 countries across Europe, Africa and Asia. Buyers from 35 countries have arrived for the fair, which runs until Saturday, 25 March, including business clients from China and Arab states who are of key importance to the amber industry.
The AMBERIF SPRING fair is also the largest jewellery event in Central and Eastern Europe, and its significance is especially notable in Poland, a country with a long tradition of Baltic amber production. Amber is one of the “premium” products that Pomeranian creative industries are preparing for global competition.
– The most beautiful amber stadium, the largest lump of amber recorded in the Guinness Book of Records, the Amber Museum, and above all the entrepreneurs and this wonderful fair – all of this is precisely what makes Gdańsk the world capital of amber – said Gdańsk's Deputy Mayor for Entrepreneurship and Climate Protection Piotr Borawski during the opening ceremony of Amberif.
Slavic myths, the tradition of manual craftsmanship, and the quality of design and workmanship of companies, studios and designers, as well as institutions supporting scientific, artistic and economic activity, all combine into the spectrum of associations linked with Baltic amber.
Dariusz Drelich, Governor of Pomerania, who took this year's AMBERIF International Amber and Jewellery Fair under his patronage, expressed hope for a return to the former prosperity in the Pomeranian region, where more than 10,000 people once made their living from processing and selling amber. The AMBERIF SPRING fair is certainly a showcase for this region.
The fair was traditionally declared open with the sound of a bell.
Among the exhibitors are both Polish manufacturers and representatives of the industry from various countries in Europe and around the world. It is an ideal opportunity to learn about the latest trends in the jewellery industry and to network with industry representatives.
